PS3 to have built-in parental controls
Sony has announced that its next-generation PlayStation 3 console will ship with in-built parental controls.

The PS3’s parental control system will allow parents to control the games their children have access to, thus placing the responsibility for content control on parents’ shoulders, rather than imposing stricter regulations on certain elements of the video game industry.
At a conference last week with the Tokyo government and Japan’s biggest retailers, publishers and developers, Sony pointed out that it had already included built-in parental controls in its PSP handheld console, and confirmed that it would implement a more comprehensive parental control system in its upcoming PS3 console.
Microsoft’s next-gen Xbox 360 console will also feature adaptable parental controls.
Parents will be able to set a password on the console which must be entered before a user can access mature content or log onto Xbox Live. Parents will also be able to use the Xbox 360’s controls to conceal a user’s identity online.
