Thats very true...so far it has needed a memory card to play them but there is also the speculation of the new feature they are making that will allow you to download old games much like a virtual system.

But i think it would be easier if you just put the CD in because people who own the game that they want to play from another system will not want to download the game when they have the CD right there...

Frankly I don't think a hard drive is necessary especially since Sony had already introduced a micro-hard drive for the PSP. The new 4GB HDD is very expensive but it's the same size as a memory stick IMO I thought Sony would be better off by producing a PS2 memory card sized data storage device for the PS3. This might solve the backward compatiability issue since current PS2 and PS1 games required a Sony memory card in order to function and will not read the existing PS2 HDD.

I was reading one of your articles and doesn't it seem a bit weird how Sony makes the PS3 have so many memory input stations such as SD ports and Compact Flash
when they say now that the Hard Drive will be mandatory for playing games? Why make so many different ports if there is going to be a 60 gig Hard Drive?
