Playstation 3 to come with HDD as standard
A hard disc drive will ship with all Playstation 3 units when the console is released this November, ending speculation that gamers may be forced to purchase a peripheral to perform the PS3’s basic functions to play video games.
Comments made by SCE President Ken Kutaragi at last weeks Playstation Business Brief raised concerns that a HDD may be required to play games on the PS3 and that it would have to be bought separately.
Speaking to Yahoo! Games, a Sony representative has clarified that a 60 GB HDD will come with the Playstation 3 as standard.
The representative said gamers would also have the option to upgrade the hard disc drive, however, no details about the upgrade or price were mentioned.
