Nintendo changes Revolution name to Wii
Nintendo has announced that Revolution will not be the name of their next-generation console. The new console will now be known as “Wii” (pronounced “we”).

The Wii characters and logo represent the consoles unique controllers and the image of people gathering to play.
The new name has been chosen because of its appeal to a broader range of people than Revolution and because it can not be easily confused or abbreviated.
So far Wii has been met with a mixed response from online gamers, many believing the previously adopted Revolution name was more appropriate.
The Nintendo release can be found here.
