Sir, I would like to know if the playstation 3 is compatiable with playstation 1 and 2 games. Many of the stores that sell the playstation 3 has stated that it doesn't, it does, or it will playstation 1 games but only certain playstation 2 games. I was recently told(9-10-08) from a Gamestop and Walmart representative that a new version of playstation 3 was going to be released and it will play all the playstation 1 and 2 games due to the fact that it was going to be installed with the compatiability chip. I would reallly like to know the truth and if it is possible to buy a playstation 3 that is compatiable with playstation 1 and 2 games. I would just like to be given a straight answer so I do not have to switch to the XBox 360! Thank you for your assistance. Ed

Kewl cell processor The cell processor looks like it will provide a fine platform. I just recently purchased a PS3 and the cell processor tech feels just right. Having gamed on various systems for the past 20+ years using simple Timex systems, large mainframes, PC and consoles the PS3 looks like it has a number of excellent qualities. From the simple connection to the complexities of adding multiple users and input devices the PS3 has it all. Well back to the game
