An article at Computer Business Review reports that Samsung and Microsoft partner on Xbox 2 in order to promote the Xbox 2′s (aka “Xbox 360″) High Definition television (HDTV) capability. Samsung is a pioneering manufacturer of LCD HDTVs, which will be featured prominently at Xbox 2 retail kiosks.

In March 2005, Samsung Electronics announced a 82-Inch LCD HDTV, using the largest LCD panel yet made. It is being manufactured by S-LCD South Korea, a joint-venture created by Samsung and Sony(!) who are almost equal shareholders.

Expect the Samsung label to show up on the Xbox itself and within the Xbox setup screens.
