First pictures of Xbox 360
First images of the next-generation Xbox have hit the internet, and going by the writing on the drive slot, the console will be called Xbox 360.
The image, whether real or not, has given ample grounds for speculation regarding the possible system configuration of the next Xbox console. First of all, the Xbox 360 may use wireless controllers as there are no visible controller ports. The big round green thing looks like a big power button but it is also possible that it is an ipod-like touchsensitive area intended to control on-screen menus without a controller, as wireless controllers need power and their batteries may run out.
The console appears to be equipped with a standard DVD drive. Visible on the front is what appears to be an infrared receiver and two slots for memory cards. The infrared receiver is probably for a DVD remote control. On the right hand side is what looks like a spring-load flap that is meant to hide unsightly ports for wired equipment. This could include USB ports, audio ports or corded controller ports.
