I will be buying a PS3, but with this news about their online service, I may be able to wait a little while. I have the XBox 360 and love Xbox Live. I think Sony is making a big mistake. They need to realize the future of online gaming, as Nintendo certainly has. That is the only negative area I see in the new PS3. It seems like a great machine, and I believe that it will be more powerful than the 360 presently is. I like the Blu-Ray, especially since the Xbox 360 dropped HD-DVD, that is a wise choice. But they need to get real. Microsoft will catch up to them in time, if they do not have online. Microsoft has already been lining up a greater amount of impressive video game designers and major Video game companies, so the Ps3 will not have the huge software gap that the Ps2 presently has over the Xbox. Xbox Live could give Microsoft a huge advantage in closing the gap with Sony if SCEA does not change their mind about online.
I would even go as far to say, if Sony has to push a release date back in order to get online service on their new system, that would be a good idea.
