After (Its not over yet) Rootkit fiasco, I’m inclined to not bother with the ps3. I refuse to buy their products at all.
“Our ideal [for the PS3] is for consumers to think to themselves, ‘OK, I’ll work more hours and buy it.’ We want people to feel that they want it, no matter what…”
This in my mind translates to. We want people to want the ps3 so that we can have their money in our pockets, to buy another mercedes to add to our collection of expensive cars. I don’t see how else you can see that. Nintendo say their console will be cheap, whilst changing the way we play games. Whatever the outcome, certainly Sony’s selling campaign needs more than “its worth the high price we will be asking”.
And can you really trust a company that has a patent which could allow console games to only be played on the console they are first played on?
Sued by italy (a big deal). Hated by grafitti artists, after the most distasteful advertising scheme. Having another go at cd protection… Sony BMG shortlisted for ‘internet villain’ gong. Doesn’t sound good. They raised $100,000 for charity… well sony are saints. For a company worth $40bil dollars its not bad. I’d rather they spent a small percentage of 1bil on curing cancer or aids.
This is one sucker, who’s tired of corporations like sony taking the best of them.
