Frankly I don’t think a hard drive is necessary especially since Sony had already introduced a micro-hard drive for the PSP. The new 4GB HDD is very expensive but it’s the same size as a memory stick IMO I thought Sony would be better off by producing a PS2 memory card sized data storage device for the PS3. This might solve the backward compatiability issue since current PS2 and PS1 games required a Sony memory card in order to function and will not read the existing PS2 HDD.
