Apparently, the vibration/rumble could be added in….Viegas (Immersion) says he is ready to help. See this paragraph:
“Viegas said that if Sony wants to discuss the problem, he’s sure his company could eliminate any technical conflict between having both the motion sensitivity and the vibration effect in a PS3 controller and that Immersion also is ready to provide a “next-generation” level of force feedback for the console.”

What if users could have BOTH? That would put them at the top.

BTW, notice Viegas said “Immersion is also ready to provide a next-generation level of force feedback for the console”? He didn’t say “controller”, he said “also” and “console”. Sounds like that would be a hands-down winner.

Why aren’t these guys putting the licensing/royalties issues to bed before they lose the chance to come out totally on top?
