Sony have sold TVs marked as “HD” that are (as Sony explains above) not “True HD resolution” as they don’t display 1080p or 1080i for that matter. So is it fair that Sony have marked those televisions as being High Definition with the HD logo, or should they have put on it “half-way-HD” as that is what it is? I suspect people should be entitled to a refund.
The Sony spiel on PS3 was interesting. I am also curious what warranty is going with the PS3 as there are some rumors going around that they will only offering a 12 months limited warranty. I can’t imagine that this would be true for such an expensive item that Sony says it has so much faith in. Surely it will be 3 Years right… I wonder how much a replacement Blu-ray drive would cost? Would the Blu-ray get a bit warm sitting on a smoking 90nm Cell processor and NVidia RX GPU and the internal power supply - all housed in a plastic enclosure… Yes, 3 Years guarantee that is what we all need.
