Seriously, if you don’t know what Blu-ray, HDTV, and the PS3 are already, why would you be on a site which updates release date information? Is this targeted at the demographic of idiots who want a ps3 because it contains a high number than their ps2?
And Charlotte, televisions marked with the logo HDtv mean they are HD-ready. HD-ready means that they can render HD broadcasts which normally standard definition televisions cannot. Most HD-ready tv’s are True HD but some are XGA(1024×768) or even EDtv (520p).
It is not Sony’s fault if consumers didn’t do their homework, it is the stores which misrepresent them on display. Stores don’t generally tell consumers the resolution because they want to clear inventory and HD ready tv’s with low resolutions are indistinguishable to 1080p to blind geriatric electronics enthusiests who are entering retirement with a handful of cash. (Sears and Walmart are the WORST for this)
