I feel the same will happen with either of the new ones if enough people let them know of their thoughts.
I myself, who owns gamecube ps2 and x box rate the the controllers thus.
ps2 the best, A sturdy controller easy to use with most of the buttons in the right place. i do not prefer analogue.
gamecube controller is not as well built as the ps2s but to hold it is far more comortable, 3D platforms “starfox adventures” eg are easy to navigate with the analogue thumb toggle. it far less slippery and easier to use.
then the poor old x box chunker, just as nintendo had designed the controler to be an all analogue gaming control, so did microsoft, they did though with a small amount of digital direction for some games or in some gaming areas. the x box control was at first hard to handle and awkward to use. however microfoft took the analogue button to another level, with the rear triggers, major kudos.
I beleive if it aint broke, dont fix it. why change dramaticly the shape of the ps controller unless it fits another purpose, perhaps to hold extra components inside.
Ps. has any of the gamming giants done research into R.S.I or carple tunnel syndrome in regards to the force feed back or vibration elements in their controllers. just food for thought.
