I have to say, I love a great computer game more than a great console game. Does this make me a PC person? Perhaps some may see it that way–but really, I love “games” and “technology”, and the mix of these two things keep me up at night.

PCs will always match console performance (usually within 1.5 years of the console release). But the hard-hitting fact is to get the same specs (and visual prowess) out of a PC that next-gen consoles have, you are going to spend over $3000. If you built your own, you can save a bundle, and you don’t have to pay for a name like “Alienware” or “Falcon NW”….which are like buying Fararri or Mercedes. But still…the difference between PC and console is the PCs need to make their money back on hardware…consoles use a different approach–they choose to bite-the-bullet on hardware, and make thier money back on games and periferals.

Oh and MOB you said: “Aside half life the original doom, sims and commandos the pc has not much going for it terms of gaming sales are going down every year. Next generation of fully capable consoles will finish off of what left of the pc game market.”

…you mentioned a few killer apps for PC…you forgot World of Warcraft. There are more people addicted to that, and more money being made than you can fill a warehouse with. And what about Counterstrike. Battlefield 2 (which is one of the best FPS every created…and that isn’t an understatement).

Take care all…I can’t wait to get my hands on a new console. I won’t be able to afford a new “gaming” PC for quite some time…
