hey do u think sony is undermining their own blu-ray players by having the blu-ray players in the ps3?
won't ppl just buy the ps3 and forget about the buying the players considering that the ps3 will cost around 400usd while the blu-ray players may cost 1000usd or more...
also they will hav the same functions i.e. can play blu-ray discs. so wont ppl just buy the ps3 until the price of blu-ray players eventually goes down in a year or so...? so aren't they messing it up for the blu-ray players they have on the market if they sell the ps3 at less than the cost of production? |

Well no i don't think so actually.
I can see what you are saying but if you think about it a lot of people out there that just don't want to buy the ps3 no matter what features it has. They just see it as another game thing they don't need with a useful addon. But on the other hand they will buy the blu-ray player as they can see a use for it and it will have better and more relevant features specifically for movies etc.
i think the ps3 is just a bit of a boost to help the bluray get going. Thats about it really. |

Hey,
I don't think they are undermining their own blu- ray players at all. Just look at what happened with the PS2 and DVD players.
Also not every blu- ray player will be 1000 dollars or more. This is only for the top of the range players with the better features. |
